THEOSOPHY: A term dating back to
the third century A.D. coming from the Greek Theos, god, and
sophia, wisdom. Ammonius Saccas and his disciples in eclectic
Theosophy saw that all religions shared three (3) major ideas: 1) belief
in one supreme, absolute deity as the source of all; 2) humankind's
immortal nature is a radiation from that deity; and 3) by making oneself
as pure as the source, one could receive the divine secrets. Such efforts
at purification are called theurgy, divine work.
As practiced in modern times, Theosophy claims that all religions stem
from the same roots of ancient wisdom through myths and symbols and
the study of the meaning and secrets of these will lead to truth and
spiritual oneness. Thus it is a philosophical system that teaches that
one can gain knowledge of a transcendant reality through revelation
or through practice of the occult tradition.
The primary exponent of Theosophy today is the Theosophical Society, an international nonsectarian, nonpolitical, and nondogmatic organization founded in New York City in 1875 by Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, a Russion born mystic; Colonel Henry Steel Olcott an American attorney and federal government official, William Q. Judge, an American attorney and others.

TRANCE: Very similar to hypnosis in that there are many forms of trance. Full trance means the individual is out-of-body and is allowing the interdimensional being to speak through his or her vocal chords. In this form the medium often takes on the physical expression of the being. Automatic writing is another form of trance, where the interdimensional being uses the hands of the medium to write or type. A new form of trance, that will become popular as this decade proceeds, is called "Awareness Trance". This form of trance allows the medium to receive telepathic messages from the interdimensional being while the medium is fully awake and able to walk about. The Awareness Trance state allows the medium to operate from all levels of mind at once and access his or her own knowledge as well. This state draws upon information from two worlds, Earth and the other dimension.
